FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COUNSELLING & COACHING?
Life coaches focus on creating a new life path to achieve certain goals. Counsellors focus on specific problems in hand and look into emotional resolutions to past problems to move forward, finding solutions to these specific problems. However, having someone qualified in the two disciplines means that both strategies can be implemented to ensure the best positive outcomes
HOW LONG DOES A SESSION TAKE?
After your initial free consult, each session will usually last between 50 and 60 minutes.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
This does depend on the situation. In a coaching environment with clear goals an average of 6 sessions should be sufficient. In a counselling setting, depending on the brevity of the situation it can be between 6-12 sessions with intermittent follow-up sessions if required. Please note we will never prolong sessions if goals and outcomes have been met. Conversely we will always let you know at the soonest point if we feel we cannot be of service. The clients wellbeing is always at the forefront.
ARE SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL?
All sessions are confidential between coach/counsellor and client. However, if we feel at any point the client is a danger to themselves or others we will inform parents/guardians. We will always encourage open dialogue between client and parents/guardians.
It is important to note here that all conversations will be recorded for legal reasons to protect the counsellor/coach and also the client. These will be stored following strict GDPR/AVG regulations and shall only be used for legal representation if required. A consent form must be signed to agree to this.
